MAPI Spooler Errors in Outlook 2007
MS Outlook is among the most widely used e-mail clients in the world. Outlook 2007 users are reporting that they cannot send or receive e-mails and are shown a message stating:
The Outlook MAPI Spooler has experienced an error and shut down
After restarting Outlook 2007 users are unable to access their e-mails because the PST file has become damaged as well. The MAPI Spooler error often occurs because the computer has an incorrect system time and date. Usually more than 20 years in the future. This time and date conflicts with the e-mail provider’s server time and date which results in the MAPI Spooler closing unexpectedly. Ensure the computers system time and date are correct.
To repair the damaged PST file, run the Scanpst.exe utility located in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033
This utility will allow the user to browse to the PST file and initiate a scan. When damage is identified, the utility will perform the necessary repairs. In most cases, this will fully resolve the issue. Sometimes, a third party Outlook PST Repair application will be needed to fix more extensive corruption issues.
